Governor Wants Movement-Based Environmental Awareness

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan, wants the awareness of the environment is based on movement, instead of program. It is because if the program-based administration is government or private party, but not necessarily able to mobilize citizens.

According to him, to realize Jakarta as a sustainable green city should start from each individual. If you want to manage waste properly, do not only think about the waste alone, as it is only residue.

"The most important is how to manage waste in the upstream. For instance, changes in mindset and lifestyle because the volume of waste can't be separated from the way of human life," he stated.

He added, when we consume goods also need to think about the goods whether it can be used up or leaving a lot of residue. Therefore, talk of the environment, it is not limited to waste, but much more extensive than waste management.

"Everyone must be invited to participate in the development and environment. Starting from today, the environment should be a mobilization, and starting from personal, home, school, workplace, and environment in general," he closed.
